Valentine's Day Style

It's almost February which means it's almost Valentine's Day.  I love the idea of taking a moment and just celebrating the people you love.  It doesn't have to just be about the people you're with, it can also be friends and family.  Although, I'm excited for my first Valentine's Day as an engaged girl.  

Last year, Alex was sweet and brought me my favorite treat, chocolate covered strawberries.  We made dinner together and watched movies.  This year, we'll be in the Bahamas for Valentine's Day, but I'm excited to spend the special day with him.

Of course, if we were home and going out to dinner, you'd have to think about a fabulous Valentine's Day outfit.  I think I'd have to go with:

A great statement necklace will really make the outfit shine

A simple, classic bracelet (with some sparkle)

Wedding Wednesday: Little Details

I can't believe the wedding is in less than 3 months!!  It still feels like there's so much to do.  I've been working a lot recently on small details.  Little things that I've been looking at are welcome bags, envelope box for the reception, place cards and church programs.  I'm trying to find a look that's sophisticated, romantic and simple. New Beauty Products

Life Recently

It's freezing cold in the New England right now which is why I think I keep flipping through the photos on my iphone, looking for warmer images.  I always love snapping quick pictures on my phone and saving for later reference.  It's always funny what catches my eye and what I'm loving.  A few of my current pics are:

Wedding Wednesday: Honeymoon - Aruba!

Alex and I have been working to earn as many Starwoods point as possible over the last few months in order to fully take advantage of our honeymoon destination, Aruba!!!  We are officially booked to stay at the Westin in Aruba from Monday 4/22 - Saturday 4/27.  I could not be more excited.  I have heard from so many people that by the end of the wedding weekend, you are just so exhausted you end up sleeping for the first day or two of your honeymoon.  Well, sleeping on a beach in Aruba sounds just fine to me.

We've had a lot of friends travel to Aruba and go there for their honeymoons and have all raved about it so we're really looking forward to it.  In picking Aruba, we really wanted a destination that was less than 5 hours from NYC, a direct flight, warm in April with beaches and also had a fun night-life so we didn't need to do an all-inclusive option.  So many friends have raved about the restaurants in Aruba so we can't wait.

Bahamas Style

I'm leaving for a much-needed vacation to the Bahamas in a few weeks and of course, have the honeymoon in Aruba in April (yay!!!) so my mind is constantly thinking about beach style and what I want to wear in the Carribbean.  Of course JCrew launches their Spring Sneak Peek which makes me salivate at the thought of summer...

SCANDAL!

Does anyone else LOVE "Scandal"??  I'm so hooked on this show.  I think it might be my favorite show on TV right now.  It's a political thriller starring Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope who runs a crisis-management firm in DC.  She also happens to have had an affair with the president whom she still loves.  The show is amazing. Almost equally amazing is the fashion. The fashion is reason enough to tune-in Thursdays at 10p (est).   Some of my favorite looks from the show are:
